Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has visited the site of the building collapse at the Accra New Town Experimental D/A School.

The Vice-President inspected the site where an uncompleted three-storey building collapsed on Sunday, March 29, 2026, while worshippers had gathered inside.

Confirmed reports indicate that the incident claimed three lives, while about 20 others were rescued from the rubble, according to the Ghana National Fire Service.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang later visited some of the injured victims receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital, where she was briefed on their condition and ongoing medical care.

Meanwhile, emergency teams remain at the site, using heavy equipment to clear debris in the search for any remaining victims.

Government officials have assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
