The African Festival concluded on Tuesday December 30, 2025, with a grand concert at the Accra International Conference Center, bringing together music, dance, and culture from across the continent.
Hosted by Miss Doreen Avio, broadcast journalist at Multimedia, the concert opened with the Adaha Band performing Ghanaian highlife classics, Nigerian Afrobeat, and hits from Ivory Coast.
Ghanaian singer Wiyaala followed, using her songs to encourage Africans to return to their roots and contribute to the continent’s growth. Her performance was supported by an unplanned dance routine from the All Stars Dance Group, which impressed the audience.
Bessa Simons and Amandzeba Nat Brew also took the stage, with Nat Brew’s hit song ‘Worgbe’ energizing the crowd. Rocky Dawuni delivered an Afro Roots set that celebrated African heritage and unity.
South African music icon Yvonne Chaka-Chaka closed the programme with a blend of singing and storytelling, sharing her life experiences and encouraging young Africans to take active roles in shaping the continent’s future.
The event attracted prominent personalities, including the Minister for Tourism and Arts and Culture Dzifa Ablah Gomashie, UNESCO Ghana Country Manager Edmond Moukala N’Gouemo, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Caribbean, and legendary actors Fred Amugi and Tony Umez.
The festival’s finale highlighted the vibrancy of African music, culture, and the enduring spirit of the continent.
