Director of Advocacy and Policy Management of the Center for Democratic Development CDD-Ghana, Dr. Kojo Asante has tasked African Leaders to adopt actions which will promote peace and development. He observed that most African leaders have turned deaf ears to the needs of civilians, leading to the continuous unrest on the Continent. Speaking at a Leadership Training Programme in Accra. Dr. Asante admonished leaders to rule progressively to encourage the citizens to always embrace peace for promotion of sustainable development of the Continent.
The Leadership Diary Training Programme organized by Youth Arise Organisation, YAO, coincided with the celebration of the Organization’s 1Oth anniversary, launch of Essay competition and Outdooring of the YAO Flag. Director of Advocacy and Policy Management of CDD-Ghana, Dr. Kojo Asante pointed out that loopholes in the Continent’s security systems have rendered Africa underdeveloped.
Touching on the theme, ”European Colonization, the struggles for independence and governance leadership in Africa’’, he advised African leaders to exhibit leadership traits such as courage, sympathy, hope and unity to engender confidence in their citizens.
The CEO of Youth Arise Organization, Baffuor Moses Awuah, said Youth Arise Organization is committed to the principles of mentorship and leadership training to produce ”reliable, young, and energetic people who will become agents of change in their communities”.
Some participants at the programme shared their experiences with GBC News advocating governance with feedback.
Deputy Director of GBC Radio, Ebenezer Odzawo, who chaired the function charged the participants to develop a spirit of perseverance at all times to achieve success in life.
