The Ministry of the Interior has announced that all machines used in mining across the country must be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) by August 1, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, any mining equipment that is not registered by the deadline will be seized by the State.
The Ghana Police Service and the DVLA have been instructed to strictly enforce this directive starting August 2, 2025.
This move is part of government efforts to bring reforms to the mining sector and strengthen law and order in the country.
The public, especially individuals and companies involved in mining activities, has been urged to comply with the new regulation to avoid sanctions.
