There was an atmosphere of joy as members of Apostolic Faith Church Ghana and other music lovers gathered in the presence of God at the auditorium of its Akplaku headquarters for the 2025 Camp Meeting Music Concert. Dubbed freedom in Christ, the Musical Concert is part of activities of the church during its annual two-week camp meeting, offering patrons an opportunity to worship God through music. Leading the ministrations, were the Apostolic Faith Church Choir and Orchestra which thrilled patrons at the annual event. The Music Director for Ghana, William Addy, speaking to GBCNEWS, said song selection was on theme of the Annual Camp meeting which focuses on liberation. He said the musical concert offers a platform for all to renew and rededicate themselves to the Lord.
“Normally, we look at the theme for the Camp meeting and this year we have the theme of liberation. So, we try to select songs that will fit into that theme. Some of the orchestrations may not fit straight but they are all geared towards having a feel of the liberation that we talk about.
He added “music is a language that speaks to everybody so even though you may not be a music person once music starts playing it strikes a chord in the heart of human beings”
The Overseer of the Apostolic Faith Church Ghana, Rev. Joseph Ansah, urged Christians to trust in God’s saving power in all circumstances. He said faith is key to enjoying peace of mind. Rev. Ansah noted that despite life’s challenges, Christians in particular must hold firmly to the assurance that God alone is the ultimate redeemer. He emphasized the need for unity among Ghanaians, stating that it is essential for national development.
Rev. Ansah, encouraged Christians to embrace spiritual freedom and break away from lifestyles that enslave them. He said the annual camp meeting has led to the breaking of bondages and encouraged congregants to remain expectant of miracles.
“The theme of the camp meeting is liberation thou art loose, found in Luke chapter 13 verse 12. Since we started this camp meeting, people have come to pray and they have testified to the effect that God has broken their chains. When those chains are broken, we receive peace of mind to go about our business and to serve God better. So let us seek the face of God, he is the only person who can give us peace, that peace with no strings attached.
The 2025 Camp Meeting Musical Concert was attended by hundreds of patrons who described the night as both spiritually uplifting and memorable. Highlight of the event was a captivating drama which was staged to reinforce the theme of liberation. The performance depicted life’s challenges and the ultimate freedom that comes through God’s intervention. The 2025 Camp Meeting will be climaxed on Sunday September 7, with a thanksgiving service, which will be attended by representatives from the presidency, traditional rulers and other special guests who will grace the occasion.
