The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, has publicly, and in accordance with Asante tradition and custom, announced the death of Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III.

She passed away on Thursday, 7 August 2025. The announcement was made at an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Monday, 11 August 2025.

The Asantehene also revealed that the one-week traditional rite for the queen mother will be held on Thursday, 21 August, at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace.

The late Asantehemaa succeeded her biological mother, the 13th Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem, who died in her sleep on 15 November 2016 at the age of 109.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who was also the elder sister of the current Asantehene, died at the age of 98 and was the 14th Asantehemaa in succession.
