The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has assured Ghanaians of stable power supply during the scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.

The Ministry has given Ghana Gas the nod to undertake a scheduled maintenance of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16 to August 30, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Spokesperson and Head of Communication for the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, Mr. Richmond Rockson, the Ministry has put in place comprehensive measures in collaboration with key power sector players, to mitigate any potential impact on power supply during the maintenance period.

These measures include the strategic deployment of alternative fuel sources to ensure a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply across the country. During this period, the plant will temporarily suspend its supply of gas to facilitate critical maintenance activities.

These activities are designed to enhance the plant’s operational efficiency and overall performance, and will include inspections, repairs, and upgrades to key equipment and systems.

The Ministry stated that the shutdown is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring the continued safe and reliable operation of the plant.

The Ministry reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to maintaining reliable power supply at all times and has pledged to keep the public informed with regular updates on the progress of the ongoing maintenance.
