The Traditional Authorities at Kwamo in the Ashanti region have re-introduced the age-old ‘Communal Labour’ a strategy to engender environmental cleanliness in the community.
The monthly exercise, which comes with sanctions against non-cooperative residents will be used to enforce strict adherence to environmental hygiene among the people.
Nicholas Osei-Wusu reports that the initiative has been given a boost with the adoption of local technology for waste separation that encourages residents and visitors to responsibly dispose off waste and also separate unwanted materials generated for recycling.
