The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, June 30, 2025, as part of efforts to bring lasting peace to the troubled Bawku area.
This was announced in a press release from the Manhyia Palace on Sunday, June 29. The statement said the meeting is part of the Asantehene’s continued commitment to ending the long-standing conflict in Bawku.
“His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, will meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, 30th June, 2025,” the statement said.
The Manhyia Palace also appealed to all sides involved in the crisis to support the peace process. “Asantehene requests all stakeholders to cooperate for us to find a lasting peace in Bawku,” it added.
