The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Ghana and across the world, calling on citizens to reflect on the core values of the season and contribute to national unity and development.

In an Easter message, the Minister said the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ represents renewal, forgiveness, sacrifice and unity. He noted that the season symbolises the triumph of life over death, hope over despair, and love over hatred—values that continue to inspire humanity toward building a more compassionate and just society.

He urged Christians and all Ghanaians to use the occasion to deepen their reflection on the meaning of Easter and demonstrate kindness, compassion and justice in their daily lives.

The Minister also called on the public to support national sanitation and environmental management efforts by maintaining clean surroundings during and after the Easter festivities.

He encouraged citizens to avoid littering, properly dispose of waste, preserve natural resources and promote clean and healthy communities.

On public health, the Minister advised Ghanaians to observe proper food hygiene and safety during the celebrations. He urged the public to be mindful of what they consume, ensure proper handling and preparation of food, and prioritize their health and well-being.

The Ministry further emphasised the need for religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, urging Ghanaians to respect one another’s beliefs and cultural diversity as a way of strengthening national cohesion.

Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim wished all Ghanaians a peaceful and fulfilling Easter filled with joy, renewal and the assurance of God’s enduring love.
