The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, says the shift in the weather patterns in the country is a wake-up call for every Ghanaian to support the fight against climate change. He said the rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, drought, flooding in massive proportion, and rising sea levels are all threats to the current generation and generations unborn.

Mr. Yakubu said there is therefore the need to focus on integrating Local Policies, Programmes, and Projects, especially, on climate change to help curb the trend and facilitate Sustainable Development Goals. In an interview with Correspondent Emmanuel Akayeti at the just-ended three-day Gender and Climate Change Conference in Bolgatanga, Mr. Yakubu threw more light on the imminent threat of climate change and says it must be an all-inclusive endeavour to eliminate the trend.

The Programme Coordinator of Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung Economic Policy Competence Center, Eunice Asiedu, highlighted some of the key indicators of the weather phenomenon and said there is a need to deliberately make attempts to reverse the scourge of climate change.
