‎In a press release issued by the National Communications Authority (NCA) on Wednesday December. 31, 2025, the Committee said it continued its meetings even after the October 1, 2025 implementation of the new value packages.

The Committee is chaired by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George.

‎According to the NCA, the improved DStv packages were implemented as announced, and Ghanaians responded positively. This led to a significant increase in DStv subscriptions across the country.

‎‎The Committee includes representatives from the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, the NCA, and MultiChoice, operators of DStv. It is also working with other agencies, including the Cybersecurity Authority, to fight internet streaming piracy.

‎The statement noted that illegal streaming of pay TV content causes loss of tax revenue, affects earnings in the creative industry, and exposes consumers to security risks such as malware and phishing attacks.

‎The release indicated that the Working Group says it will continue engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure that agreed objectives are achieved.

‎The press release was issued by the National Communications Authority on behalf of the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, who also serves as Chair of the Stakeholder Committee on DStv Pricing.
