Management at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), in Kumasi helped arrest a fake doctor on Monday, September 4, 2023.

It, however, denied that the alleged fake doctor administered drugs or any form of medication to patients.

A statement issued by the Hospital and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Kwame Frimpong said the suspect by name Dr Williams Cyrill Cohen was accosted at the Accident and Emergency Centre by one of the directors during his usual rounds.

The statement said Williams was having some equipment believed to be managed by medical doctors.

It said a fake doctor was arrested and handed over to the police.

The statement denied Williams had attended to patients saying the monitoring system at the hospital is so strict and digitised that under no circumstance would fake doctors have opportunity to access the medical offices without being accosted.

The statement asked patients to be wary of such persons whose identity may be doubtful and report such characters to management.
