The Immediate Past National Director of Evangelism, of the E.P Church, Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel Antwi-Tumfuor, has challenged the country to adopt a sustainable strategy of consistently improving road networks and vehicular traffic management to enhance productivity.

He said the country has a serious issue with bad roads which has resulted in increasing agitation and protests in various communities including cities.

He said providing quality roads will address time spent in traffic, with its attendant loss of productive time and health implications.

Rev. Antwi-Tumfuor, who is also the Pastor of Tema West District of the E.P. Church, said this in a New Year message at the Watch-Night Service at Kekeli Congregation in Tema Community Eleven.

He made a passionate appeal to government to consider serious re-engineering of interchanges at the major roads which are entry points to the national capital, Accra to ease traffic.

Rev. Emmanuel Antwi-Tumfuor called for private sector partnership to encourage public-spirited individuals and companies to invest in the construction of roads with modalities on how to recoup such investment.

Commenting on the outcome of the 2020 elections, Rev. Antwi-Tumfuor stressed the need for justice to be at the centre of addressing any disagreements associated with the elections. He said one thing that makes peace meaningful is when the aggrieved parties see the proper dispensation of justice without fear or favour.

Rev. Antwi-Tumfuor said the rampant market fire outbreaks deserve to be seen as a national emergency because of the negative impact on the livelihoods of thousands of traders looking at the millions of cedis worth of items destroyed in such fires.
