The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says it is working with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to restore power to areas hit by Sunday’s heavy rainstorm in the Greater Accra Region.

The storm triggered widespread flooding and power cuts across several communities.

NADMO asked ECG to switch off electricity in affected areas for safety reasons.

The affected locations include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, Borteyman Township, Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, Kissieman, Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction, Nmaidzor Zoomlion, University Farms, Trasacco 3rd Gate, Legon Hill, Santoe, Blue Kiosk, Adenta ECG Office and Madina Islamic University.

ECG says power will be restored once NADMO declares the areas safe.
