The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has begun the installation of a mobile transformer in Tseaddo to address rising electricity demand and improve supply reliability in the area and its surroundings.

The 20/26 MVA, 33/11 KV mobile unit was transported to the site at 2:00 AM on Monday and will temporarily support part of the load currently handled by the La Primary Substation. The project is fully funded by ECG.

Communities set to benefit from the installation include Tseaddo, La, Teshie, and other nearby areas.

The initiative forms part of ECG’s broader efforts to enhance power quality, increase operational efficiency, and support socio-economic development across its service zones.

Although the mobile transformer is a temporary solution, ECG says it will play a vital role in ensuring uninterrupted service until the La Primary Substation undergoes a permanent upgrade.
