Fire gutted a baby care shop at Adum in the central business district of the Ashanti Region, less than 24 hours after five wholesale grocery shops, a few kilometers away, were razed down.

The fire, which started around 6:00pm Saturday February 5, 2022 is on record as the second incident in the Adum area this weekend.

Preliminary investigations by the Fire Service officials revealed that the shop owner lit incense close to some petroleum products in the shop.

According to eyewitnesses, but for the timely intervention of Personnel from the Service, the fire would have spread to other shops.

Regional Fire Commander, ACFO Henry Giwa is worried members of the public are not adhering to the continuous education on how to handle naked fire.

He has therefore advised the public to stick to fire protocols.

Adumhene Baffour Agyei Kesse, who visited the affected area, called for intensification of public education on fire and admonished the tenants to adhere to fire education and sensitization tips.
