Firefighters are battling a fierce blaze that has engulfed the House 3 boys’ dormitory at Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The fire, which started about an hour ago, is believed to have begun in the master’s bungalow, part of the same structure as the dormitory, before spreading rapidly to the students’ living quarters. The exact cause is yet to be determined.
According to reports from local media, the master’s residence was completely consumed by the fire, with no belongings recovered.
Personnel from the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Stations are on site, with additional support from a fire tender dispatched by the Eastern Regional Fire Command to help contain the blaze and prevent further damage to school facilities.
