A total of 100 newly procured 29-seater buses have arrived in Ghana as part of government efforts to address ongoing road transport challenges.
The buses are the first batch of a planned 300 vehicles intended to improve public transportation and ease commuting difficulties across the country.
The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced this in a Facebook post on Sunday, April 5, 2026, indicating that the vehicles form part of a broader plan to ease road transport challenges and expand transport capacity nationwide.
According to Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the remaining buses will be delivered in two additional phases. Another batch of 100 buses is expected to arrive in August, while the final 100 will be delivered in November.
The phased arrival of the buses is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the transport sector, reduce passenger congestion, and provide more reliable services for commuters.
The government says the initiative is aimed at enhancing mobility, supporting economic activity, and improving the overall efficiency of the road transport system.
