Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accompanied by the Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu,Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the former Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and some former appointees of his government, has visited the residence of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka in Taifa, Accra, to commiserate with the bereaved family.
In a heartfelt tribute, the former President recounted his first encounter with Apostle Safo, which began on a professional note when he was retained as the Apostle’s lawyer after an extensive search for legal representation for the Kristo Asafo Mission.
“Over time, my relationship with him transcended the boundaries of legal representation and became personal,” he reflected.

Describing Apostle Safo as “industrious, innovative, and generous,”former President Akufo-Addo praised the visionary leadership of the Kristo Asafo founder, noting his invaluable support for him personally and for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He likened the Apostle’s extraordinary efforts to bridge the gap between Christianity, science, and technology to Leonardo da Vinci’s scientific association with the Catholic Church, stressing that Safo Kantanka stood out as a pioneer who dared to merge faith with innovation.
“Even in his period of infirmity, he remained a cherished associate and friend. At this moment of his sad passing, I recall a gracious, humorous, elegant, and handsome leader whose contributions to church, science, and nation cannot be forgotten.”
The former President extended his condolences to the Apostle’s daughter, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, and to all his children and the entire family.
He concluded with prayers for eternal rest: “May he find rest in the Bosom of the Almighty until the Last Day of the Resurrection, when we shall all meet again.”
