Parliament has approved one hundred and twenty-five point nine million (125.9 m) cedis for the Ministry of Information for 2021.

64 million cedis of this amount, would be allocated to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for its programmes and activities.

Members of the Communications Committee in a report presented to Parliament for the budget’s approval, said though the public service broadcaster continues to deliver on its mandate, government’s support to the Corporation has dwindled.

The public service broadcaster is neck-deep in a total debt of 88 million cedis.

The Committee suggested more funds to GBC to function properly.
