The former Chairman of the National Media Commission, Mr. Yaw Boadu Ayeboafoh has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and its staff for their warm welcome and kind hospitality upon his return.

Reflecting on his time in office, he shared how people once served him attentively and welcomed him with open arms. However, he noted that such gestures have become less frequent since he left his position.

“Last year, I was here and I was the secretary. When my car arrived, even though I did not ask, somebody opened the door, somebody took me into a room, and when I did not need tea, somebody brought me a cup of tea. This year, I have come back here, I’m no longer a minister. When my car arrived, nobody opened the door. As I found my way into the conference room, I asked for tea, but nobody wanted to,” he recounted.

Speaking at the launch of GBC Heritage Month, themed “90 Years of Upholding Our Cultural Heritage,” he expressed his joy and appreciation for the warm reception he received from GBC.

“I am saying thank you to GBC. Even though I am no longer the chairman for NMC, when I entered here today, I was well received. Thank you very much not only to the director of the board but also to the staff of GBC,” he said.
