The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has asked African women leaders to aspire for greater heights and serve their nations with renewed commitment to improve their lots.
Dr Naa Momo was opening the first Africa Women Leaders Conference of the Women Commission of Africa Assemblies of God Alliance at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.
The Conference brought together wives of seven General Superintendents of Assemblies of God and women leaders from 20 African countries, including Ghana, to deliberate on how to advance the cause of the church and society.
Dr Naa Momo, who is a member of Assemblies of God, Ghana, commended Christian women for their selfless dedication to Christ and relentless contributions to the wellbeing of the people. She urged them to do more to impact the present and future generations positively.


The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana and Vice Chairman of the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, Rev Stephen Wengam, urged the women leaders to “prioritize soul winning and champion aggressive church planting .”
This, he said, would complement the MM33 agenda of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship to plant one million churches by the year 2033 to commemorate the 2000th year of the ascension of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Wengam encouraged the women leaders to use creative means to draw souls to Christ.
The President of the Women Commission of Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, Pastor Faraja Songela of Tanzania said the Commission aims to mobilize women on the continent for missions, discipleship, networking as well as equip them for the progress of Africa and the Kingdom of God.

She announced that the Commission has provided scholarships for women to pursue theological education
The Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Rev Mrs Gladys Abu Baba, who doubles as the Vice President of the Women Commission, assured participants of the highest hospitality of Ghanaian citizens.
The wife of the General Superintendent and National President of the Ministers Wives Association of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Lady Mrs Monica Wengam presented a piece cloth to each foreign delegate as a gift from her husband and herself.
