Government has officially welcomed the proposed peace framework put forth by U.S. President Donald J. Trump aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana reaffirmed its “unwavering commitment to global peace, stability and principles of international cooperation.”
The statement emphasized Ghana‘s belief that any initiative prioritizing dialogue, mutual respect, and the cessation of hostilities deserves serious consideration by the international community.
“The proposed framework underscores the importance of protecting civilian lives, restoring territorial integrity and fostering conditions for long-term reconciliation,” the statement indicated.
It said as a nation with a proud tradition of peacekeeping and mediation, Ghana stands ready to support constructive efforts that advance these goals.
The government encouraged all parties to the conflict to engage in negotiations in good faith and to place the welfare of their people above political differences.
Ghana reiterated its commitment to working alongside regional and global partners to ensure that peace, security, and prosperity prevail across the world.
