Ghana is seeking to strengthen trade relations with the United States through a potential partnership between Tema Port and the Port of Wilmington. The proposed collaboration is expected to enhance trade connectivity and create new opportunities for economic growth between the two countries.

This was revealed when the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, held talks with Delaware Governor, Matt Meyer, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.

Mr. Ablakwa also delivered the keynote address at the 14th Annual Pan-African Global Trade and Investment Conference in Delaware, USA.

He commended the Centre for Global Africa and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) for convening the event and advancing Africa’s trade and investment agenda on the global stage.

The Minister further emphasized Ghana’s readiness to foster partnerships that drive economic progress while reinforcing Pan-African solidarity.

The conference brought together policymakers, development partners, and business leaders to explore strategies for enhancing Africa’s role in global commerce and investment.
