Global Evangelical Church Yahweh Chapel donates to Tema General Hospital

The Global Evangelical Church Yahweh Chapel, Lashibi, is 35 years old. As part of the churches activities to mark the anniversary, the church has held a health screening for members and also donated items to the children’s ward of the Tema General Hospital.

According to authorities of the facility, malaria continues to dominate cases among children under five who are brought to the hospital. 

Also lack of basic needs hamper the proper care of children admitted the children’s ward of the hospital due to inadequacies.

This has pushed the Global Evangelical Church Yaweh Chapel Lashibi to go to the aid of the hospital’s children’s department.

The church donated assorted items including branded bedsheets, detergents and toiletries, drinks and biscuits to the children at the ward.

A member of the anniversary planning committee, Rose Mawusie Mesokro said the gesture to the children’s department is to emulate Christ by showing love to the needy especially children.

Mrs Mesokro said the health screening provided the opportunity for members to receive care in various capacities where referrals were made where necessary. 

She said there will be a health walk this Saturday and the climax of the celebrations will be on the 22nd of this month.

Head of nursing at the Tema General Hospital, Olivia Elorm said the donation is timely because the children’s department is in dire need of such items.

She urged other churches, corporate institutions and well to do individuals to also come to the aid of the hospital.

The team paid prayers for the children on admission while presenting snacks to every child at the ward.
