Government releases GH₵26 million to FSHS institutional suppliers

Following recent reviews and hole-punching into the Free Senior High School (FSHS) program by the public and Educational Stakeholders, government through the Ministry of Education has released funds for institutional supplies.

In a press statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, an amount of GHC26,000,000.00 has been duly disbursed to institutional suppliers responsible for the supply of school uniforms, Physical Education Kits, stationary amongst other things that provides easy operations of the program.

“The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce the disbursement of GHC26,000,000.00 to institutional suppliers’ responsible for the supply of school uniforms, P.E Kits, Stationary,etc as part of the Free Senior High School programs”, the Statement read.

According to the statement, the amount released by the ministry underscores the government’s commitment to fostering quality education. The funds released are to also ensure a smooth running of the various Government Assisted  second cycle educational institutions in the country.

The statement further affirmed the ministry’s continuous commitment to ensuring a timely, efficient and smooth distribution of resources necessary to improve and sustain quality education in Ghana.
