President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pledged to renovate the Philip Quaque Boys School, the first Primary School in the country, established in 1776.

In an address to mark the 65th Independence Anniversary of Ghana today, March 6, 2022, in Cape Coast, President Akufo-Addo noted that the renovation of the Philip Quaque Boys School is an Anniversary gift to Cape Coast.

“Let me announce to the good people of Cape Coast that in commemoration of this occasion, Government has decided to rehabilitate in full, the Philip Quaque Boys School; the first Primary School in our country as its anniversary gift to Cape Coast”, President Akufo-Addo said.

Ghana’s 65th Independence Anniversary was marked with a parade by the Ghana Armed Forces, Security Services and Schools.

The  colourful event, hosted in Cape Coast was on the theme: Working Together, Bouncing back together”, with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley as Special Guest of Honour.
