The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Integration joined Ghanaians to observe the Green Ghana Day on May 10, 2020.
The Ministry said it is committed to promoting this initiative by the Government since it provides an opportunity for all Ghanaians to reconsider actions that have contributed to global warming.

The Sector Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, said this move by the Government is a good one and her Ministry will not be left out.
The Green Ghana Day, an initiative by the Government seeks to plant two million trees, enhance national awareness of the necessity for collective action towards the restoration of the degraded lands across the country and also inculcate into the youth and all Ghanaians the value of planting and nurturing trees and their associated benefits.

Giving her speech at the second edition of the Green Ghana Day celebration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for this great initiative.
”This exercise will go a long way to restore our polluted environment.”
The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to this national initiative.
”The Ministry is planting trees at the headquarters and all its affiliated institutions”.
Madam Botchway urged all Ghanaians to embrace this great initiative.
The theme for this year’s edition of the Green Ghana Day is “Mobilizing for a Greener Future”.
