The Ghana Grid Company Ltd. (GRIDCo), operators of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS), has apologised to electricity consumers for a system disturbance which occurred around 7 p.m. on Friday.
The interruption, it says, resulted in power failure which affected parts of the country.
A statement issued by GRIDCO said power restoration efforts continue.
It appeals to customers to exercise patience as it continues to restore power to all affected customers, adding that any inconveniences caused are deeply regretted.
