Helicopter Crash: Remains of eight victims flown to South Africa for forensic analysis

In the aftermath of Wednesday August 6, 2025 tragic Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash near Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, the remains of the eight victims who perished have been flown to South Africa for forensic analysis.

Speaking to the media at Kotoka International Airport, the Interior Minister, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, confirmed that the bodies were accompanied by the Head of Forensics at the Police CID office, who is leading the delegation. He stated that the DNA results are expected within 6 to 12 hours.

The Minister also announced that President John Mahama will address the nation.
