Ghanaian politician, Prof. Joshua Alabi, says no words can capture the pain felt over the tragic loss of eight Ghanaians who died in a helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking on Friday August 8, 2025, after laying of flowers in honour of the victims, Mr. Alabi described the incident as a colossal tragedy for the nation.
“Words can’t describe the way we feel. We’re mourning the tragic loss of eight souls who lost their lives in that tragic helicopter crash. I’ve had the opportunity with my colleagues to have worked with all of them, very closely, and I must say their dedication to service and their sacrifice for the nation is something we shall never forget,” he said.
Mr. Alabi extended condolences to the bereaved families, the government, and the people of Ghana, as well as friends and sympathizers who share in the grief.
This unexpected incident occurred in Adansi Akrofuom District in the Ashanti Region which resulted in the sudden death of Defense Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Alhaji Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, NDC’s Vice Chairman, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Former Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Pilot, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sargent Ernest Addo.
