The Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, has urged Ghanaians, especially politicians, to desist from the habit of using abusive and indecent language.

Reflecting on the fond memories of the late president, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, on the tenth anniversary of his passing, he said one can criticize, but that should be done devoid of foul language and indecency.

“I will not support any young man who for whatever reason is a politician and he sounds very indecent in his language. You can criticize but criticize with moderation. That is what I want to see,” he added.

He made this comment on GTV’s breakfast show on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

He added that as Ghanaians remember the late Professor Atta Mills, they should put a spotlight on him and see if there can be transformation in the way we do politics in this country.

“If today we are remembering him, let’s reflect, let’s put a spotlight on him and see whether we can transform the way we are doing our elections.”
