Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed, earlier this morning delivered a farewell message to prospective Hajj pilgrims at the Tamale Airport as they departed for Mecca today.

Standing on behalf of President Mahama, Muntaka wished the pilgrims a safe and peaceful journey while assuring them of the highest quality of service.

He mentioned that the Interim Hajj task force had made the necessary arrangements to ensure their comfort. He also implored them to remain steadfast in their prayers in order to obtain Allah’s blessings.

The pilgrims were urged to pray for Ghana’s prosperity and stability. This gesture highlights the significance of the Hajj pilgrimage and the government’s efforts to facilitate a smooth journey for the pilgrims.

As they departed for Mecca today, they carried with them the good wishes of President Mahama. Their time in Mecca will be a spiritual journey of self-reflection, devotion, and prayer, and it is hoped that their experiences will have a positive impact on their lives and the lives of those around them upon their return.

The Hajj pilgrimage is an annual Islamic journey to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, considered a mandatory religious duty for capable Muslims to perform at least once in their lifetime and usually lasts five to six day. It’s one of the Five Pillars of Islam, alongside Shahadah, prayer, almsgiving, and fasting.
