The Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has expressed confidence in the IGP, Dr. George Akufo Dampare and the Police at large in sticking to their mandate without fear or favour.
He said the Police under, Dr. Dampare’s leadership has earned the trust of the people.
Reacting to a leaked tape in which some people are purported to be discussing plans to remove the IGP due to his bias against the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Mr. Dery said the Government will not tamper with the 2024 Elections.
Meanwhile, the Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, James Agalga said the contents of the audio tape, though yet to be authenticated, is quite disturbing.
