The Kokrobite Institute, under the leadership of Matthew Volson, successfully organized a one-day cleanup exercise across the Kokrobite community. The event was held under the theme “Wote Community Trash & Reuse”, aiming to promote environmental awareness and cleanliness among residents.
The exercise began at the headquarters of the Institute of Recycling and moved through various parts of the community. Volunteers cleaned areas from the Institute through the community bus station, onward to the police station, and finally to the Kokrobite beach.
As part of the initiative, Matthew Volson and a selected group of team members paid a courtesy visit to the Adontenhene of Kokrobite, Nii Quarshie Djabum Okreketeyua II. The chief warmly welcomed them and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the initiative. He commended Matthew and his team for their dedication to improving sanitation in the community and pledged his support with a financial contribution to help sustain the effort.
In response, Matthew thanked the chief for his kind gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the cleanup campaign for the benefit of the Kokrobite community. After the visit, he and his team rejoined the rest of the volunteers to continue the exercise.
The cleanup exercise concluded back at the headquarters of the Kokrobite Institute of Recycling, leaving a clear message of unity, responsibility, and hope for a cleaner future.
