The senior housemistress of Wesley Senior High School in Konongo, Ashanti Region, came under attack after some students allegedly pelted stones at her residence, prompting police intervention to restore calm.

The incident is said to have happened after the housemistress confronted a student who was allegedly caught cheating during the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).

According to the headmistress, Rev. Agnes Gaisie, the student insulted the housemistress after last Friday’s Christian Religious Studies paper. The student later apologized and was taken through counselling.

However, on the night of Sunday, September 7, some students reportedly went on a rampage and attacked the housemistress’ residence with stones.

According to Citi News, Rev. Gaisie said investigations are underway to identify the students behind the incident. She assured that the situation is now under control with police intervention, and that the WASSCE examinations are continuing without disruption.
