A head-on collision between a Howo tipper truck and a Daewoo Matiz at Kpando–Aziave has left three people dead and six others injured, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The crash, which occurred on 3 December, involved truck registration GN-4585-25 and the Matiz registered GW-5674-19. GNFS said the truck driver was injured while his mate escaped unhurt. Five occupants of the Matiz sustained injuries, and three others were trapped in the vehicle. The driver and two passengers later died.

Eyewitnesses told responders the Matiz veered into the lane of the oncoming truck.
