The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has arrived in South Africa to lead Ghana’s delegation to the 2026 Mining Indaba Conference.
In a statement issued by the Media Relations Officer at the Lands Ministry, Paa Kwesi Schandorf, the Minister touched down on Sunday, February 8, 2026, ahead of the four-day continental mining and investment forum.
During the conference, Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah is expected to engage in a series of high-level dialogues and strategic meetings, contributing to discussions on critical challenges and emerging opportunities within Africa’s mining industry.
A major highlight of Ghana’s participation will be the Ghana Day Event, scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2026, where the Minister will headline proceedings. The event is anticipated to showcase Ghana’s vast business and investment potential, particularly in the extractive sector, while deepening investor interest in the country’s mining industry.
As Africa’s leading gold producer, Ghana is expected to leverage the platform to reinforce its position as a preferred mining destination and promote responsible, sustainable mineral development.
Mining Indaba remains the continent’s premier mining and investment conference, bringing together governments, global mining companies, investors, and regulators to attract capital, influence policy, and set the agenda for Africa’s mineral future.
According to the Lands Ministry, Ghana’s participation reflects the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to strengthen the mining sector through expanded global partnerships and targeted strategic investment initiatives.
The official opening ceremony of the 2026 Mining Indaba Conference will take place on Monday, February 9, marking the start of a series of high-level policy engagements and discussions.
