A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for defiling a 13-year-old girl in the Upper West Region of Ghana, police have confirmed.
Mohammed Abudi was arrested on 13 April 2025, just two days after the incident occurred in the Guli community within the Wa Municipality. He later pleaded guilty to the offence at the Wa Circuit Court.
The sentencing took place on 23 April, with His Lordship Jonathan Avuogo presiding over the case.
The Upper West Regional Police Command has since issued a strong warning to potential offenders, urging them to desist from such acts.
