Author and Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azuri Awuni, says his decision to write the book: “THE PRESIDENT THAT GHANA NEVER GOT”, stems from the desire to document how Ghana has been governed under President Akufo Addo. He reiterated the need to dissect major issues that happened under President Akufo-Addo’ s government which must be documented for future generations.
The content of the 400-paged book is not only revealing, but also exciting, as it delves deep into political, social, and historical narratives that have shaped Ghana, providing insights and revelations.
Head of the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, Professor Seidu Alidu, described the book as historic yet futuristic.
Prof Seidu said the book is a critical assessment of the Akufo Addo government, in what the Author terms, the good, the bad and the ugly. It projected some positives like the Free SHS, and the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
On the negative side, were issues like failure in the fight against galamsey and the One-Village, One Dam initiative.
The book was launched by the Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Governance, IDEG, Dr Emmanuel Akwetey.
