FDA admits beleaguered MARWAKO Fast Food joints in East Legon & La did not have Food Hygiene Permits

The Food and Drugs Authority, FDA says the East Legon and the La branches of Marwako Fast Food did not have Food Hygiene Permit to operate. It said the East Legon branch where the suspected food poisoning occurred had an expired permit at the time of the alleged food poison.

Speaking on Behind the News, Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs at the FDA, Joseph Bennie, said the La branch did not also have a Permit to operate. He said ”as a check on food vendors who default renewing permits, their operations are suspended until such time that they are able to renew the permit”.
