The Managing Director of Maurya Education Limited, Mr Girish Gurbani, has cautioned parents, school heads and the general public against fraudsters presenting themselves as representatives of the Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS).
Speaking at the climax of the 14th UCMAS National Competition at the Pentecost Convention Centre in the Central Region, he urged the public to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be from UCMAS by calling the organisation’s official contact numbers or checking its verified social media platforms.
He stressed that only accredited personnel can offer the authentic brain development programme, warning that engaging unverified agents could deny children access to quality education.
Mr Gurbani described UCMAS as an affordable but high-impact programme that must be delivered by trained instructors.
He called on parents to enrol their children in accredited UCMAS centres to ensure they benefit from genuine, world-class cognitive training.

This comes after hundreds of brilliant young students from across Ghana gathered at the Pentecost Convention Centre from 9 to 10 August to participate in the 14th edition of the competition.
Themed UCMAS: A requisite medium for training 21st-century students to solve global challenges, the two-day event saw about 140 schools showcase their skills in mental arithmetic and problem-solving, including a new National League competition to test applied UCmaths concepts.
Winners received exclusive UCMAS-branded trophies, certificates, books, school supplies and gadgets, along with the opportunity to represent Ghana in international competitions in Georgia and Turkey.
Parents and relatives praised the organisers for boosting children’s confidence, thinking abilities and quick decision-making skills.

They cited examples such as participants answering 200 questions in just eight minutes, adding that the exposure would benefit the children’s future.
The students expressed appreciation to both organisers and parents for the opportunity to enhance their cognition and prepare for future careers.
