The Special Advisor on Media and Strategic Communication to President Akufo-Addo, Oboshie Sai-Cofie says government is working seriously to fix the economy and will therefore need all hands on deck.

She was speaking at the 26th GJA Awards on behalf of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who was the Special Guest of honour.

Making reference to one of the popular sayings of the President “we know how to fix the economy but we don’t know how bring back humans” and stressed on the need to protect every Ghanaian including journalists.

Madam Sai-Cofie said the role the media plays is crucial because it keeps the government in check. She added that the media must be prioritized and the rights of journalists promoted to ensure their safety.

She pledged government’s commitment towards media development.

On the economy, Madam Oboshie Sai-Cofie said that government will continue take effective measures to fix the economy and urged media practitioners to work with government.

She promised to inform the President about the issues raised in the GJA President’s speech and bring the response later.
