The Police Administration is urging the public to disregard a viral photo, showing 27-year-old, Albert Donkor, whose death sparked protests in Nkoranza, eating with six policemen.

According to the Police, the men spotted in the said photo are not Police officers from Nkoranza South Municipality nor from any part of the country.

In a statement signed by the  Director-General of Public Affairs, DCOP Kwesi Ofori, it noted that the picture was taken at a funeral at Boana in the Nkoranza North District, which is a few kilometers away from Nkoranza.

It has therefore described the photo-making wave on social media as ”mischief and a calculated attempt to dent the image of the Service”.

It is alleged that the deceased was deliberately killed by Police Officers and that he did not die during an exchange of gunfire while leading Police to the hideouts of some armed robbers in the Bono Municipality.

The allegation resulted in a series of protests in Nkoranza on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 leading to the death of another youth.
