The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Efutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has donated GHC105,000 to support 33 students of the University of Ghana from the Volta Region.
The beneficiaries, who are members of the Volta Region Students Association (VORSA), received the support during an encounter with the Minority Leader in Parliament on Tuesday, September 9,2025. The gesture is to help the students settle their academic fees for the current academic year.

Addressing the students, Mr. Afenyo-Markin encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and strive for excellence. He said discipline and hard work are essential qualities that will enable them to become responsible citizens capable of contributing to national development.
He noted that education remains a powerful tool for transformation and urged the students to make the best use of the opportunity.
The leadership of VORSA expressed gratitude to the Minority Leader who double as the Patron for VORSA, for the intervention, describing it as timely and a demonstration of his commitment to youth and education. They pledged to utilize the opportunity given them to rise in their level of education.
