Deputy Minister-designate for Transpor, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has announced that the Mpakadan railway line will soon begin full operations.
She made this known during her vetting by the Parliamentary Committee on Friday July 25, 2025 when she was asked about the state of the railway sector, which has recently seen strike actions by some workers.
Responding to a question about the current status of the Mpakadan railway, Madam Affo-Toffey said she had received a full briefing from the sector Minister, Joseph Bukari Nikpe and confirmed that preparations are underway for the line to become operational soon.

“The railway at Mpakadan will be operating very soon. I had a lot of briefing with my Minister and he said it will start operating shortly,” she told the Committee.
