Muslims observe EID-UL-ADHA holiday amidst uncertain times

Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Armiyaw Shaibu, has asked Muslims across the globe as they mark Eid Ul Adha, to remain united and show love to each other as directed by Allah.

He noted that Islam admonishes Muslim youth to collectively be law-abiding and focus on promoting righteousness. He advised them to eschew laziness and immoral behavior and contribute rather to national development.

Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu was speaking to GBC News to herald the Eid celebration, which is being held in uncertain times, given the ravaging COVID -19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has advised Muslims to observe all COVID-19 safety protocols as they observe the Eidul Adha.

A statement from the service while urging them to celebrate the festival in moderation also asked especially the youth to obey road traffic laws and regulations for the safety of everyone.
