The Emerge New Woman Conference, held in Accra on December 27, 2025, brought together women from diverse backgrounds to share experiences, inspire one another and promote personal development.
The event, held under the theme “Recharge”, featured a keynote address by Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown, who reflected on her personal and professional journey.
In her address, McBrown spoke openly about challenges she faced earlier in life, including dropping out of school and experiencing deportation. She said these experiences did not define her but instead became sources of motivation that shaped her determination to succeed.
She emphasised the importance of preparation and readiness, noting that opportunities are most effective when individuals are equipped to take advantage of them.
“When you are ready and the opportunity comes, nobody can take it away from you,” she said.
Ms McBrown also encouraged participants to think beyond achieving success and to focus on sustaining it over time. She urged women to consider long-term strategies for maintaining their careers and personal brands.
“You can build a career and build a brand, but how do you intend to maintain it?” she asked.
Organisers of the conference said the platform was designed to help women reflect, refocus and renew their sense of purpose. Participants described the session as insightful, with many noting that the discussions highlighted resilience, discipline and preparation as key elements for long-term success.
Ms McBrown’s address concluded with a call on women to remain focused and prepared as they pursue personal and professional goals in the year ahead.
