The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has announced the temporary suspension of staff due to legal and financial challenges linked to employment processes.
In a memo dated February 21, 2025, NEIP stated that complexities surrounding staff allowances prevent the use of operational funds for salaries.
“Management has been instructed to strictly follow due processes in regularising staff employment matters to prevent further legal complications.”
Effective February 24, 2025, employees are required to stay away from work until the issues are resolved. Additionally, staff must return all NEIP property by February 25, 2025, with failure to do so considered an act of theft.
NEIP has assured employees that those whose services are needed will be recalled once the concerns are addressed.
